WinMX is currently protected from NOTHING!

Have you noticed that the WinMXWorld website is down right now? Well if you haven't you should probably know what it means to you, and why they're such an irresponsible and clueless organization.

Cache Servers Have NO Blocklist?

Since every WinMX peer cache server relies on a text file hosted on the WinMXWorld website for their blocklist ip ranges to give to actual WinMX users (www.winmxworld.com/block/cache_list.txt), they are currently being fed a generic 301 "Moved Permanently" error code message. These redirect codes (301/302) and used to tell your web browser that the website or web page you are trying to visit has been moved temporarily (302) or permanently (301). As it seems the admins at WinMXWorld have no clue what they are doing, they have set a 301 code. Indicating that the website will never return. I sure hope Google has discovered this so our relevent blog posts can move up a few spots to the top of the search results for "winmx world".

Check for yourself here: http://www.winmxgroup.com/index.php?id=cache-checker  (just click any of the "Online" spots under the blocklist column)

Because of this severe oversight of the WinMXWorld admins and their "coders". All WinMX users are currently being bombarded with fake files in their search results, as well as being completely unprotected from any of the cartel organizations connecting directly to them.

Below is an example of thousands of fake files, along with whois' of maxed out secondary users as we remember seeing from years ago when the fake files first started:

Why this shouldn't have happened:

Due to the way the cache server and the patch that they and every WinMX user is using, there are no integrity checks built in to prevent this kind of thing from happening. You would think someone would make sure that the cache servers would not replace a list of actual ip ranges with a block of html garbage... and you would think the patch would be designed to not forget all of the previous ip ranges from the REAL block list before it adds in a block of html... but I guess no one was smart enough to think of that.

When can we expect a fix? Who knows... we still haven't received a fix for these network attacks. I would say an estimate of 2015 is a good guess. But I can assure you, this group of people running WinMXWorld really has no fucking clue what they are doing, and if this doesn't convince you, I don't know what will.

One Year Later...

It has been over one year since the attacks on the WinMX network started. And look where we are... the exact same place that we were a year ago. Isn't that just pathetic?

Let's first take a moment to thank GhostShip for all his hard... ohhh wait..

Patch? What patch?

Over the course of the last twelve months WinMX World has promised a fix for these issues in the form of a patch, but what exactly happened to this so called quick fix patch? Perhaps GhostShip pissed off yet another "talented" developer with his dictator like attitude and lack of intelligence in how to actually code a working program?

Well folks, I'm sad to say that GhostShip confirmed on the WinMX World forum himself that they have abandoned the patch method of fixing this minor issue with the network. It seems Richy's version of the patch was not good enough for GhostShip to slap his name on and call it his own, so he chose to let us suffer even longer in this mess.

The Replacement Client (And Why It Already Sucks):

Instead of a patch, WinMX World now promises to release a replacement client. When and if this may happen is unknown, but Tiny4Eva/Ryan promised months ago that it would be released in a "few weeks". However, here we are, months later and they have nothing to show for it. The fact is people, this replacement client is not going to actually fix anything. To fix the fake search results, it simply filters search results on the client side. This may look like a "fix", but your search requests are still going to be turned into "c:", and you will receive maybe 1/10th of the amount of search results as you did before the attacks started. For a chat room list fix, they will probably host their own incomplete and outdated list of chat rooms to load into the client remotely.

So much for actually fixing the problem right?

We all see what GhostShip has done for us...

 NOTHING at all.

Who is really behind these attacks?

Has anyone stopped to realize that the only group of people that benefit from these attacks is WinMX World themselves? Think about it for a minute, KM and Splintered have not been seen for months, and yet the attacks continue? If the attacks are active, people have a reason to visit the waste land known as WinMX World, and they have a reason to look to them for help and advice. The fact is, the patch we use now has not been updated since 2008. FOUR long years we have gone without even a little update. Updates such as local peer discovery that would eliminate the need for peer caches (and remove their monopoly of the network), and updates such as adding a local search filter that would actually 'fix' the search hijacking problem.

The actual reason for the patch never being updated is the fact that they rely on a foreign coder. And because GhostShip can't actually code, and all the decent coders in the community got sick of him, he had no one to turn to.

So, think to yourselves... if WinMXWorld is the sole beneficiary to these attacks... then...

Please GhostShip, do what we all want:

Real WinMX Users Spill The Truth About GhostShip on Video.

I would like to thank these brave WinMX users who found enough courage to tell their horrifying stories and encounters with the sick man we know as GhostShip.

GhostShip Believes in China Censorship and DDOS'ing Innocent Users.

It seem as though GhostShip is willing to stoop to even illegal activity to make sure he is guaranteed absolute monopolistic reign over the WinMX Network. In an exclusive screenshot provided by a reliable source from within the WMW community team members, the proof is blatantly clear that has does not have the best interests of the average WinMX user in mind.

As it has been a couple months since GhostShip first promised the new patch... it's best to assume they are not able to provide it. As any patch that is going to use TCP to check thousands of vital packets per second is bound to failure as it will slow down all traffic on the network to a halt.

In the screenshot above GhostShip proves yet again he has no idea how the tor network even operates. Exit nodes have no real legal responsibility for what users do on the tor network through their connection. It is also not possible to shut down the tor network, as it's very decentralized, and made up of multiple 10Gbps and 1Gbps high bandwidth servers.

Wanting to DDOS tor offline is anti-freespeech as millions of users behind the great firewall of China depend on it to access the internet behind their Government's restrictions. What kind of sick and twisted evil man would want to deny users free speech? Oh well put GhostShip on that list. He already deletes and edits posts he does not agree with on the WMW forum, why not move on to blocking entire countries as well? All he wants is to better his reign as WinMX dictator.

It's also unrealistic that GhostShip (Peter) would go to any court of law to get any kind of court order against an anonymity network that's virtually impossible to block. "Please judge, there are users who I do not agree with demonstrating free speech by advertising in our chat rooms. Please help our p2p network that is used by thousands of users to illegally share copyrighted files."

In fact I have no doubt that if GhostShip was ever pinpointed as the leader of the WinMX network by the RIAA or whoever, he would run and hide before ever stepping foot inside a legal court room. He already houses an illegal immigrant... why would he want to add copyright infringement along with aiding and abetting the illegal sharing of millions of dollars worth of material to the list?

Please just do us a favor GhostShip...

Another WinMXWorld Admin Loses It.

Say it isn't so.... Nylly has allegedly thrown in the towel. After someone calmy and politely wanted to dicuss the attacks and how they originated in the WinMXWorld Help room, Nylly reportedly lost it and told everyone to fuck off. She then closed the chat server as well as the main WinMXWorld website and forum.

I also want to give a special shout out to Stevi. I just read where she finally stepped out of the GhostShip cloud of bullshit and spoke her mind. We are proud of you Stevi and don't let those self centered so called "staff" at WinMXWorld get you down.

Of course after Stevi spoke the truth about the corruption of power in WinMXWorld, she was soon turned into the enemy and rudely talked down upon as usual. It's really sad that a supposedly "community" driven website does these things. But the truth is, they are only in it for power and control.

Here is a screenshot of Nylly's breakdown:   (Click to Enlarge)

Somewhere... GhostShip cuts his wrists even deeper knowing his reign of dictator is soon coming to an end....

WinMXWorld is Anti-Community

The patch that the majority of the WinMX users have is called the WinMX Community Patch. However, WinMXWorld itself is not community driven at all. It is run by a sick, twisted, wife-beater of a man named Peter, or what everyone knows him as, GhostShip.

Let's begin with a history of how WinMXWorld was started. Back in 2005, Vladd44 was the central hub of the WinMX community, and its forum was moderated by a group of very control minded people who would delete topics simply because they did not agree with them, and edit other's posts to better their own arguments against these users. WinMXWorld was created to get away from this. It was created as a way for the WinMX community to gather together peacefully without all of the censorship and egos that had taken over at Vladd44.

However, power is a hard thing to manage. And GhostShip fell victim to power early on. When you take a look at WinMXWorld now, the website is relatively dead. It uses the same old web design from 2005 which looks like something out of the late 90's. It's not a warm welcome to anyone who views it. The forum software is another issue. The default black background, bright white text is very hard to read, and many users simply don't visit it because they can't get over how horrible it is. It has been suggested to the management multiple times that the website design needs a major overhaul, but of course they say it's "nonsense" and it's "not important". How can the fact that the channel you use to communicate information, especially during these network attacks be considered low priority?

The forum moderators have also become just like the ones that were on Vladd44. If there is a post or topic made they do not agree with, they will either delete the entire thread, or lock the thread and move it to a section that regular users cannot view. Moderators such as Bluey tend to add replies days and even weeks after a thread has been locked, abusing his moderator status and posting just to get the last word in. In fact, Bluey never seems to have anything helpful or positive to add to any discussions. He uses very cryptic messages, and makes absolutely no sense at all in almost all of his posts. Why he and a few people are admins, I do not know... but they sure do not contribute anything at all.

WinMXWorld Scares Developers Away:

Back in 2005 and 2006 there were many WinMX developers, all with their pet projects, and all of them got along okay and were happily churning out new software and addons for the WinMX users to use. If you look at the WinMX developer community now it's virtually non existent. Bender, Emulator, Josh, Ouka, etc.  Everyone is gone or have completely ceased development of their software. And what about when new developers want to help with WinMX? Well they are scared away by the vicious ego driven GhostShip.

In fact, this is why the attacks started in the first place. Splintered (NB), came to WinMXWorld looking for protocol documentation and other useful information a developer should be given in order to program some utilities and software for the WinMX Peer Network. However, upon asking for this information, the WinMXWorld admins were as vile and cruel as usual and shrugged him off as worthless and that he should go elsewhere. Even after Splintered offered many solutions of how the improve the current patch and cache system, the admins wanted nothing of it and just ignored him.

So this is where KM stepped in. He came into the WinMXWorld chat room sharing the Primary TCP and UDP protocol documentation. Something that is not owned by WinMXWorld as much as they might want you to believe. They do tell us that they are not a monopoly and only a "small piece" of the WinMX Community. But why do they believe the are the holders of this important information? Seems very hypocritical to me. He was also sharing the Eagle patch and cache sources that were obtained through GhostShip's so called "friends" and "trustworthy" few. It seems those people were not very fond of this sick old man either.

As soon as GhostShip found out what KM was sharing, he added KM to the GLOBAL WinMX blocklist simply for sharing files he did not agree with. It's very ironic how WinMXWorld have on multiple occasions bible thumped in the fact that they cannot filter files sharing on the network. However this is exactly what GhostShip did. Due to the blocklist abuse KM decided to stage a protest just as the countries in the middle east have done. They simply stood up to their evil dictator leader (GhostShip) in this case to fight for equality and freedom.

This is not the first time GhostShip has blatantly been rude and told someone off for trying to help with WinMX development. Ina secret section on the WinMXWorld forum, GhostShip begged for developers to help create a patch to counteract the attacks that are still ongoing. However, even after Richy gave multiple genuinely good ideas, GhostShip basically told him off as though he was worthless and was just wasting time. Unless GhostShip specifically thinks up an idea himself, he will talk down to the people giving new ideas, and treat you like shit.

Here is a pdf of the secret thread where GhostShip begs for developers, and when developers do offer help, he is rude and tells them off for no reason other to show he is still "in control" with his huge rude ego even after fake retiring.

What needs to happen:

People need to realize that the attackers are not the enemy. GhostShip is the enemy. His controlling dictatorship known as WinMXWorld has been overstepping its bounds, abusing the blocklist we all have given our trust in, now defiled by a sick, twisted old man and his large ego. GhostShip needs to leaves WinMX for good so we can continue to live on this network in peace. Until that happens, it's likely WinMX will never go back to normal, even with a so called "patch".

WinMXWorld Is a Big Vicious Monopoly

Many times GhostShip and the some of the staff at WinMXWorld have tried hammering in the fact that they do not have a monopoly over WinMX, and that they do not control it. This folks is a complete load of rubbish.

First we need to take into consideration the sheer number of users that use the community patch or a modified version of Eagle's patch. At least 90% of the 40,000 network base uses their patch. If that's not enough of a shock to prove that GhostShip's spouting off about how they don't have control is nothing but a big lie I don't know what will get through to you.
